The plane in this photo is a Douglas C-47 “Dakota” that participated in the D-Day invasion of World War II as one the planes that towed gliders filled with troops and armament across the English channel into Normandy. This plane also appeared in the movie A Bridge Too Far. The plane is now based at the Warbird Museum in Titusville, Florida and is still used in air shows.
