This photo shows a portion of the Hagia Sophia, an ancient building in Istanbul, Turkey. The Hagia Sophia began as a Christian cathedral a few hundred years after Christ. The cathedral was converted to a mosque towards the end of the middle ages. In modern times the building was converted to a museum, as it is today.
