The bird in this jigsaw puzzle is a kingfisher. There are 84 known types of these birds living all over the world. This one is of the white throated variety, which mainly resides in Asia. This kingfisher’s bright red beak, blue feathers, and white throat easily identify it. Kingfishers are best known for the ability to swoop out of the sky, dive into water, and grasp fish with their uniquely long beaks. However, not all of these birds are fish eaters. Many of them (including the one seen here) dine on insects, worms, small amphibians, rodents, crustaceans, and reptiles.
