The Roman Coliseum, originally known as the Flavian Amphitheater, is located in the heart of Rome and is one of Rome’s most historic structures. The coliseum was built between 72-80 A.D.. The Roman Coliseum was home to a variety of events, including plays, executions, animal battles, and even mock sea battles. Though the structure is still standing today, it has been damaged by looters and earthquakes over the years.
