The space shuttle Discovery is the oldest orbiter in NASA’s space shuttle fleet. The shuttle made its first trip into space in 1984. The image in this jigsaw puzzle is from a Discovery flight in 1998 and captures the space shuttle over the Atlantic ocean with the moon in the background. It has made more orbits around the Earth than any other space shuttle. The space shuttle Discovery’s last mission ended on March 7th, 2011 and it will be decommissioned. Space shuttle Discovery will have completed 39 missions and orbited the planet 5,628 times. It will have spent over 351 days in space.
