Spaghetti is popular Italian pasta and is shown in its uncooked form in this jigsaw puzzle. It is usually served with tomato sauce. Sometimes the sauce contains meat, other times meatballs are added to the spaghetti. The sauce often contains a variety of herbs, but oregano and basil are the most common. Many people add vegetables to the sauce also, such as chopped green peppers, mushrooms, or onions. Garlic is also sometimes added. Some people like grated Parmesan or Asiago cheese on their spaghetti, and some like ground black pepper on top. Rather than tomato sauce, alfredo, carbonara, and Bolognese sauce can be put on the noodles. Still, tomato sauce is by far the most common sauce used.
