The Statue of Liberty, featured in this jigsaw puzzle, is one of the most recognized monuments in the world. It was given as a gift from France to the United States to commemorate one hundred years of independence. It is has come to represent freedom, peace, and friendship. It is situated on Liberty Island in New York Harbor.
The statue was designed with a steel framework, and then covered with hammered copper sheets. The famous figure of a robed woman stands one hundred fifty two feet. A torch is held in the right hand, and a book in the left. The book is inscribed with the date July 4, 1776.
