This TWA airline ad featured in this jigsaw puzzle was made back in 1951 when planes were pioneering flying at 20,000 feet for the first time. This was an amazing achievement for aviation technology and made world travel speedy and comfortable. These ground breaking flights of TWA were enhanced by their luxurious service for the passengers.
The airline provided comfortable seats, beautiful stewardesses and sumptuous meals. These Strata liners, as they were called, flew through the sub stratosphere taking the plane above the turbulence of any bad weather while passengers enjoyed the comfort of the first pressurized flights. The meals were a very important part of the service, as you can see from this TWA airline ad, and they were often what the passenger looked forward to the most during a flight.
