Yellow-Red-Blue was painted by Russian-born artist Wassily Kandinsky in 1925. Kandinsky painted this while teaching at the Bauhaus (a famous German art school). During this time, geometric elements such as circles, angles, lines and curves became increasingly important in both his teaching and his painting and coincided with work being done by psychologists in the study of Gestalt psychology.
